Voice & Audio

DSP Group™ has been a leader in DSP voice algorithms for the past two decades. Embedded in the Company's products, these best-in-class algorithms provide a unique combination of features, and support current and future requirements for added functionality and higher quality in DSP Group's products.

The Company's voice technologies include proprietary innovative speech compression and enhancement, voice recognition, noise reduction, speech enhancement and echo cancellation algorithms, as well as implementation of all industry-standard voice over IP (VoIP) and communication voice codecs. In addition, DSP Group has implemented communication modems used for telephony and fax signaling into its products.

In the audio domain, DSP Group has incorporated major audio compression technologies such as WMA and MP3 into its products.

DSP Group's products incorporate implementation of voice and audio algorithms on ARM™ and DSP processors, as well as specific hardware DSP implementation wherever appropriate in order to yield the industry's best cost/performance/power consumption ratio.

DSP Group audio, voice and increased range technologies are divided into few groups of related technologies covering the full spectrum of digital cordless and VoIP applications.

  • CleaRplay – A family of speech and melody playback technologies for improving the loudness , clearness and richness of melodies and voice/audio playback
    • SMR (Smart Melody Ringer on DCE Family) – Low-cost, wideband polyphonic melody ringer with up to 15 Poly, supporting more instruments than past entry-level melody ringers
    • MAS (Multiple Algorithm Synthesis on DCX Family) - High quality wideband polyphonic ringer, supporting different sampling rates, boost function, more instruments (Drums), reverberation and special sound affects
    • Text-To-Speech (TTS) - Automatic generation of speech from a textual input in different languages, mainly used for talking caller ID
    • Digital Telephone Answering Machine (DTAM) - High quality, flexible bit-rate voice recording and playback algorithms, powering over 80% of the digital answering machines worldwide

  • CleaRtalkA family of complementing algorithms for voice enhancement and noise reduction for improving voice intelligibility

FNR - Flexible Noise Reduction - Reduction of incoming and outgoing stationary noise. Applied to both base station and handset, and for narrow band and wide band (HD Voice)

FLE - Single/Dual Input Flexible Listening Enhancement - Improves listening to incoming voice in noisy environment by adjusting the audio level according to the acoustic ambient noise of the listener environment

WBS - Enhanced WideBand (HD Voice) Speech Synthesis - Intelligibility improvement of narrow-band speech signal by extending it to fit the wider human hearing threshold – more natural and also helpful for the hearing impaired and elderly

Dual-Mic ANR - Dual Microphone Acoustic Noise Reduction - Reduction of outgoing noises by using two microphones diversity (use additional microphone) to separate the clean speech from the ambient noise – planned for 2010

EAEC - Enhanced Acoustical Echo Canceller - High grade true wideband full-duplex handsfree performance
