EDCT Multi-Line Multi-Handset Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz Cordless Telephone
The EDCTTM (Enhanced Digital Cordless Telephone) chipset family is a highly integrated solution for 2.4GHz or 5.8GHz Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) cordless telephones for the ISM Band. The EDCT chipset provides a 2-chip or 4-chip solution: the Baseband controller (Dx36xxx or DE56xxx) and the RF Transceiver (DH24RF17) (for 2.4 GHz application), the DH58RFC05 up-converter and the DH58PA05 (addition for 5.8 GHz application).
Integration of the the TeakLiteTM RISC DSP core into the Baseband chip enables software implementation of the voice coder and provides a platform offering a wide range of solutions. Compatibility of software and hardware for the entire range of products is provided: from a basic cordless phone with Caller ID up to a fully featured solution including the integration of CID type I & II, Multi-party Handsfree True Full Duplex Speakerphone® and Digital Telephone Answering Machine (DTAM) function, as well as dual line support.
The integrated DSP technology also enables advanced functions such as an audio notch filter to remove TDD frame-related noise and a line echo canceller. Use of channel coding and frequency diversity, dramatically increases the useable range.
The family combines unique communication technology with the best telephony features at the most effective system cost.
The EDCT chipset supports up to four simultaneous Handset links to the Base station, multiple ringing Handsets and Handset to Handset communication independent of the Base station (Walkie Talkie mode).
Flexible MMI SW can be written in C code. This code will be executed on the high performance TeakLiteTM RISC DSP Core that provides a processing power of up to 140MIPs.
