Cordless Headset

Overview

A cordless headset is a headphone combined with a microphoneand earpiece that is wirelessly connected to a telephone system. Cordless headsets are typically used in telephone-intensive environments such as enterprises, call centers and even homes. In addition to providing the same functionality as a telephone handset, the cordless headset enables a hands-free environment so that users can carry out other tasks and be fully mobile while on the phone. Due to such advantages, cordless headsets are fast becoming a popular trend within both business and consumer communications markets.

A cordless headset operates and communicates with the cordless base station via either a DECT (RF band of 1.7GHz-1.9GHz) or WDCT 2.4GHz protocol.

As the world leader in chipset solutions for cordless telephony, DSP Group’s cordless chipset is ideal for cordless headsets. The Company's hardware and software reference design enables customers to develop cordless headset products at a lower effort and faster time to market than alternative silicon solutions.
