& security

Designers of smart devices for the home, from hubs and home automation, to cameras and home entertainment, need to ensure a positive end-user experience by providing an intuitive user interface, as well as secure and reliable low-power whole-home wireless coverage for seamless IoT device connectivity and long battery life. Voice, supported by advances in AI, has emerged as the user interface of choice, and ULE (Ultra Low Energy) provides the required connectivity, with the added benefits of interference-free operation and real-time, two-way voice support.

DSP Group’s SmartVoice technology comprises a line of DSP systems-on-chip (SoCs) that enable low-power AI voice applications across a wide variety of devices, supported by our best-in-class algorithms for Always-On wake-word detection, far-field voice activation and command processing, and sound event detection (SED). SED currently includes detection of T3 (smoke) and T4 (carbon monoxide) audio alerts, as well as Glass Break sound detection. For ULE—derived from the field proven DECT technology—we provide chipsets and reference designs for a wide variety of applications, including security, safety, smart home and healthcare monitoring. Devices connect to the Internet via secure customer premise equipment (CPE) such as home gateways (HGWs), set-top boxes, or any other type of hub using a low-latency star topology. SmartVoice and ULE can be used separately—with other technologies—or used together for maximum benefit and rapid development and integration.
